About Us

The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to using the adventures of racing sled dogs to promote awareness and raise funding for the support of children with disabilities and their families. Donations to The Sled Dog Fund, Inc.
are used to support clinical research on developmental disabilities, fund hospital programs, directly assist parental education programs and to sponsor individual disabled children who wish to compete in adventure races of any kind.
All donations to The Sled Dog Fund, Inc., are fully tax-deductible.

The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. directly supports organizations such as The Stone Soup Group, Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska. Their Parent Navigator program provides support and education to families of disabled children across the state of Alaska. Another supported organization is the Alaska Center for Children and Adults in Fairbanks, which specializes in testing and early intervention for children with disabilities.

The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. also provides direct funding to the Child Life Specialist program at Providence Alaska Children’s Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Child Life Specialists provide encouragement and help guide children through the treatment process at the hospital. The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. is also engaged in efforts to identify the root causes of developmental disabilities by sponsoring clinical research at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Donations to The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. make all this support possible.

Additionally, The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. has distributor status within the State of Alaska with the Handi Ramp Company in Libertyville, Illinois. This award winning company produces handicap access ramps of all kinds. Alaskan families who wish to purchase an access ramp will be able to do so at up to a 40% discount by working

The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. also sponsors individual child athletes nationwide who wish to compete in adventure races of any kind. The sponsorship consists of funding to assist the disabled athlete with entry fees, equipment and travel expenses. Individual athletes or their legal guardians must complete our online application and sponsored athletes are then selected by our board of directors.
